Cautions before starting)
This guide is a method you can apply to #CleanDecal.
Cannot be applied to regular water slide decals.
Step 1) Heat treat in a microwave for 3 min.
This heat treatment is a process that makes the decal stronger.
We strongly recommend that you do this.
Step 2) Adhere the water decal well.
Tip: It is important to adjust the amount of water appropriately.
If the decal does not move, add water,
If the decal moves too easily, just remove the water.
(1) for a Large size Decal
Large size decals are easy to transfer by pulling on the base paper.
(2) for a Small size decal
It is recommended to transfer small sized decals by pick-up method.
(3) Use a decal softener ; MARK FIT Super strong (optional)
For super-transfer of markings, we recommend using decal softener to securely adhere decals.
Step 3) Make super-transfer status of marking parts (Heating or Full dry)
The application method varies depending on the condition of the surface where the decal is applied.
(1) Bandai raw plastic surface
Before applying decals, the plastic surface must be completely cleaned of any impurities such as release agent.
If the parts are not cleaned perfectly, the super-transfer of the marking parts will be incomplete and fail.
After attaching the decal (Step 2) ~
Heat treat at 70℃ for 80 min. to ensure that the marking is super-transferred.
The protective film must be removed using the “Scrub method”. (explained in the next step)
(2) Mr.HOBBY TOP OCAT Surface (Heat Treat X)
Decal softener must be used on matte surfaces.
After attaching the decal (Step 2) ~
No need for 70℃ heat treatment.
Instead, it is necessary to completely dry it at room temperature above 22℃ for more than 4 hours.
(3) Lacquer finish (glossy) surface (standard method)
After attaching the decal (Step 2) ~
Heat treat at 70℃ for 20 ~ 40 min. to ensure that the marking is super-transferred.
(4) Lacquer paint surface (No finish)
Decal softener must be used on matte surfaces.
After attaching the decal (Step 2) ~
Heat treat at 70℃ for 40 min. to ensure that the marking is super-transferred.
(5) ETC surface test
It is difficult to create a guide for all surfaces.
However, when testing a new surface,
you can use "(1) Bandai RAW surface" as the standard and adjust the heat treatment time.
Equipment for heat treatment is easy and convenient to use with a dish dryer.
Since the temperature is fixed at 70℃, heat treatment is possible without deformation of the plastic.

Step 4) Remove the clear protective film from the decal
(1) Physical removal method
(2) Chemical removal method
(3) Scrub method (standard)
(1) Physical removal method
Use 3M scotch tape for remove clear protective film.
Available only when a complete super-transfer has been established.
Markings may fall off randomly.
However, you can most definitely remove the protective film.
(2) Chemical removal method
Enamel thinner has the property of dissolving the protective film.
Apply enamel thinner to a cotton swab.
Wipe it carefully in one direction, and the protective film will melt and be removed with a cotton swab.
You need to be careful as the marking may be erased if you wipe it for too long.
(3) Scrub method (standard)
Simply apply enamel thinner lightly to the surface of the decal and quickly wipe it off with a clean cotton swab.
If the decal is large, you can apply enamel thinner using a brush.
Relax a lot and lightly scrub the protective film with a clean cotton swab.
Final Summary
All you need to do is attach the decal to a clean surface,
super-transfer it by heat treatment,
and remove the protective film using an appropriate method.
